Day Four, Five and Six

It was so great to catch up with Jon and his wife in Southern Texas. Just another reminder of what life is all about. Spending time with the people that you love.
It was difficult to leave them. But we do love more people than just them. So, we were back on the road once again.
This time headed for Waco. Home to Doctor Pepper and yes, where that whole crazy Branch Dividian thing went down.

We met up with Josh. He used to live with us a few years ago. He moved down to Texas to be with his parents. Him and his father went to dinner with us at Buzzard Billies, a Cajun style place right on the river near the center of town and just across from Baylor University. More great conversation.

We spent the entire next day with Josh, reminiscing and talking about the future. We visited the Doctor Pepper Museum and a college run museum where there was a display about the local discovery of a Wooley Mamouth.

It is so great to see people that you really care about. Josh was a big part of our lives and it was definitely worth the trip to see him again.

We've made this whole trip about reconnecting and staying in contact with people that have been influential in our lives. So, we left Waco for Dallas on Day Six.

A close friend of Ed's from before we met lives here with her husband and four children. We briefly got to say hello to all of them before leaving to be checked in to our hotel and going out to dinner with Stephanie and her son, Spencer, who I've featured here before.
We'll be here for several days and I know before it's done, we'll have the whole family as one more good excuse to go Texas on vacation.

We've got a big day planned tomorrow and the next. So, tune in to see what sort of trouble we get into.

aaaaaah...reminiscing with friends...

it's too bad that when ya hear the name Waco...what happened there...YEARS ago...overshadows all the other things that are nicer there...

Buzzard Billies! what a name...they don't have roadkill on the menu, i hope!! (just kidding!!!!!!!)

I believe road kill was on the menus( in name only though). We did partake in some alligator fingers for an appetizer.

Sounds like you're having a lot of fun. One of the fun things about travel is visiting local restaurants. Buzzard Billies is a place that I would want to check out--road kill or not. How nice that you are reconnecting with old friends. It must be a real blessing for them.

We are all having a great time. The elapsed time seems to have disappeared.

It's great when you meet up with old friends. Sometimes it's like no time passed at all since you last saw each other.

Always good to reconnect with people with whom we like to spend time.
Dr.Pepper museum sounds interesting.......it, the soda, never really 'took off' here in Canada.
