10 songs

Day 25 of the 30 day blog challenge ask of me to put my ipod on shuffle and tell the first ten songs that come on.

The truth is that I'm too cheep to own an ipod. I do have an mp3 player though. However, it doesn't have an option of random or shuffle. So I have to pick out my own music. I guess the question is then; what do I pick?

As you can imagine, I don't usually get much time with my mp3 player. I'm most often trying to relax when I get it out. I've got a CD that I transferred on to it that I picked up when we were on Cape Cod two summers ago. It has soothing music mixed with sounds of the seashore. It reminds me of the trip and of relaxing in the hot tub at the Brass Key Inn, sipping on some red wine.
To get me moving, I love me some ABBA or a British band "Westlife".. A recent addition was Katy Perry and Adele and for a blast from the past, I like some BB Mak. I've also got the soundtrack from Priscilla Queen of the Desert- the movie and the Broadway play that we saw last summer in my favorite city, Toronto.

Like most people, songs remind me of certain times, places and people at the time I first heard them. I like to submerge myself in good memories and using this play-list, I come away from my player refreshed and ready to face the day.

you are so right about music and songs and how they speak to us reminding us of people we love, memories of special places, events, etc. Enjoyed reading some of your favorites of songs/groups.

Son bought me an iPod a few Christmases ago. I'm so technology illiterate so I had him load songs for him. Somehow he ended up putting his playlist along with my songs I wanted on my iPod so I have a mixture of praise/worship music with rap music. And both of us are technology illiterate to figure out a way to get the songs I don't want on there off, LOL.

I hope you are hanging in there.......

When I think of my favourite songs I have a hard time choosing only one. But what comes to mind always is the soundtrack for 'Moulin Rouge'. Love all of it!

@ Betty - I know what you mean. A friend had me load his new smart phone with music. We can't find it on there, but my computer says we can't load it again because it's already on there.... Where?!

@Jim - For some reason, I've never been able to watch that movie, even when I had it through netflix. Everyone I know loves it. I just can't seem to get to watch it.

So, if a hearse drives slowly by blaring some ABBA tunes, we know Stew is working that day :-)

I am the same way. No ipod and my playlist changes depending on my mood or what I am doing.

ABBA! I don't have an iPod either, but I have great speakers in my Toyota. At least twice a week I play ABBA Gold as loud as it will go. It really gets your blood moving on a sleepy morning. One morning as I drove into the parking lot at work, "Does Your Mother Know" was blasting away. The ladies on their way to work started dancing. It was great.
